The Featured Image is a WordPress feature that allows you to set a specific image to represent a post or page.

It can be shown in different places on the website, like when you look at a list of posts or when you visit a specific post or page.

To add a featured image using the Block editor:

  1. Locate Featured Image section in sidebar, under Page or Post settings.
  2. Click Set featured image to add Featured Image.
  3. Upload image from computer, or select one from Media Library.
  4. After upload, click Set featured image on the bottom right corner of the image settings.
  5. Publish or Update when ready.

WordPress themes often specify multiple image sizes for featured images. The featured image will be cropped to fit various sizes defined by the theme and used in different parts of the website.

To delete a featured image:

  1. In Featured Image section, click Remove featured image.
  2. Publish or Update when ready.

To replace a featured image:

  1. In Featured Image section, click Replace Image.
  2. Upload image from computer, or select one from Media Library.
  3. Click Set featured image button on the right side of the screen.
  4. Publish or Update when ready.
