The Block Toolbar in WordPress editor groups related options for the selected block to make adjustments and format content.

When selecting a block in the editor, the Block toolbar appears above the selected block, providing a set of control buttons that allow the user to perform various actions on that block.

The toolbar includes options such as transforming the block to another type, editing text, and adjusting block settings.

The Block Toolbar also allows adding new blocks, moving blocks around, and deleting blocks. It’s a powerful way to customize the content of your website without the need for any technical skills.

Align

In WordPress editor, the Align option in the Block Toolbar allows to adjust the alignment of the selected block.

To use it, simply select the block you want to align, and then click the Align option in the Block Toolbar.

A dropdown menu will appear, allowing to choose from the following alignment options:

  • None
  • Left
  • Center
  • Right
  • Wide width
  • Full width

Not all blocks in the WordPress editor support all alignment options. Some blocks, like the Group block, only support the Wide and Full-Width alignment options.

Check the available alignment options before using them, as it varies among different blocks.

None

The None alignment option is used to remove any alignment that has been previously applied to a block.

When selecting this alignment option, the block will return to its default position within the content area, which is typically the left side of the content area.

Using the None option is useful when you want to return a block to its default position. It also allows to remove any alignment that has been previously applied to a block.

Left

The Left alignment option is used to align a block to the left side of the content area.

When selecting this alignment option, the block will be aligned to the left of the content area, with any text or other content within the block also aligned to the left.

Center

The Center alignment option is used to align a block to the center of the content area.

When selecting this alignment option, the block will be centered horizontally within the content area, with any text or other content within the block also aligned to the center.

Right

The Right alignment option is used to align a block to the right side of the content area.

When selecting this alignment option, the block will be aligned to the right of the content area, with any text or other content within the block also aligned to the right.

Wide width

The Wide alignment option is used to align a block to the widest possible width available in the content area.

This means that the block will stretch to take up the full width of the content area. However, it will not stretch beyond the main content area.

It’s crucial to keep in mind that not all themes support wide width alignments, and not all blocks can use it. Some blocks like Text or Code block can’t align wide.

Full width

When selecting the Full Width alignment option, the selected block will stretch to take up the entire width of the screen, spanning across the full width of the content area.

This is useful for creating full-width sections or for making an image or video take up the entire width of the screen.

Note, not all blocks are eligible for full-width alignment. Also, some themes might not support full width alignment for all blocks.
